Our principal mission in Jerusalem is one of prayer. It is a high honor to be able to pray for the peace of Jerusalem right here in Zion. We have been walking the streets in prayer and waking in the night hours to intercede for the people. We serve as "watchman" for the city, praying for our Savior's return (Is. 62:6-7). We also alert the Body of Christ to particular prayer needs concerning Israel. We have sought also to be a House where
our prayers and praise would be as sweet incense to the Lord
God. We have endeavored to seek His face and to invite His
presence to continually dwell in our midst.
The House of Peace has become a Holy Ghost "oasis" for many Christians who are spiritually dry and thirsty in this land. Our Tuesday night prayer/praise meetings have continually filled the house with local believers who come to meet and pray. Some have traveled over an hour to "be here." People find themselves refreshed, nourished, cleansed and renewed in their spirits. We have had healings as well as manifestations of His Glory here. The Lord is also unifying His church body in Jerusalem. We have be able to form precious bonds of fellowship with local congregations. We
have participated in outreaches to the Arab community, where
we have found a people"hungry" to know Christ. We have given
to those in need, sharing food, clothes, finances and prayer
with them. We have also sought to give a witness of
Christian love to our neighbors, reaching out to them in
friendship, and to let Israel know they are not alone!
To
Bring the Light of Christ to the Nations
The Word clearly shows a time coming when living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem (Ez.47:1, Zech. 14:8). We have been praying for the various cities and peoples throughout this land: Jews, Moslems and Christians, that God will give His peace to all.
The Lord wants to pour out His Spirit over Israel and on the
sons and daughters (Joel2:28, Acts 2:16-18). It is time for
revival here (Zech. 13:1). It is time for the dry bones to
receive life (Ez. 37:4, 14). Come and pray for revival. The Lord is bringing His people up to Jerusalem, to receive new orders and fresh burdens to pray for this land and people. He has given the House of Peace a hospitality ministry, to receive our members as pilgrims. We have had members from the nations come and stay with us. In the past six months, we have had guests from Norway, France, England, Africa, United States, Mexico and Israel. We have also had entire ETH branches visit.
